What'd I Do? - Poem
What’d I ever do to you, For you to treat me like you do?
I’m trying hard to understand, Why you no longer hold my hand.
What’d I ever do or say, To make you want to go away?
Only thing you left behind, Unanswered questions, so unkind.
Now what am I to believe? How will my faith I retrieve?
When all I ever get are fools, Who fail to see I’m brighter than jewels.

What’d I ever do to you, For you to treat me like you do? What’d I ever do or say, To make you want to go away?
Refrain It isn’t fair. You used to care. You used to tell everyone, everywhere, “She’s my whole world. She is the one.” Now my heart’s passion has come undone.
I’m trying hard to understand Why you will no longer hold my hand. Only thing you left behind, Unanswered questions, so unkind.
Refrain It isn’t fair. You used to care. You used to tell everyone, everywhere, “She’s my whole world. She is the one.” Now my heart’s purpose has come undone.
Now what am I to do or believe? How will my faith I ever retrieve? When all I ever get are fools, Who can’t see that I’m brighter than jewels.
Refrain It isn’t fair. You used to care. You used to tell everyone, everywhere, “She’s my whole world. She is the one.” Now my heart’s reason has come undone.
